Mr. Armistead's practice focuses on the areas of zoning, land use, and all aspects of residential and commercial real estate including transfers, financing, and leasing. In addition, his practice includes the areas of corporate and general business matters.
Mr. Armistead received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University Of Virginia, Charlottesville, VA, in 1973. In 1977, Mr. Armistead earned a MBA from the University Of Virginia School Of Business, and a JD from the University Of Virginia School Of Law. In 1980, he moved to the Eastern Shore of Maryland and practiced law at Miles & Stockbridge P.C. In 1996 he co-founded Armistead & Capute LLP, and commenced his solo practice in 2003. Mr. Armistead merged his law practice with Griswold, Lee & Rust in 2006.
Mr. Armistead is active in the community. He is an active member of the Easton Rotary Club, where he has served twice as President, on the Board of Directors from 1986-93, and as a Governor’s Representative from 1992-95. He currently serves as a Trustee Emeritus for the Chesapeake College Foundation, where he served as President from 1993 to 2004, and as a Board Member from 2004-08. He was elected to the Waterfowl Festival Hall of Fame, for his service as a President from 1987-90, and on the Board of Directors from 1983-90. Mr. Armistead served The Country School as a Trustee on the Board of Trustees from 2000-06, and as Board President from 2004-06. He participated as Vice President on the Board of Trustees for Horn Point Environmental Laboratory (HPEL) from 1991-1994. He served as President of the Talbot County Bar Association in 2006. He currently serves as a Trustee for the Talbot County Free Library Foundation.
